Tim Hollems currently serves as the Delaware County Master Commissioner, a role he has held since 2016. In this position, he has presided over more than 1,700 cases across all Delaware County Circuit Courts. He spends about 20% of his time specifically handling cases in Circuit Court 5.
Tim is a 2021 graduate of the Indiana Judicial College. He started his legal career as a Public Defender in Wisconsin, then moved to Michigan to support his wife, Jennifer, in her graduate studies. While there, he worked for the General Counsel at the University of Michigan and later entered private practice, focusing on criminal defense, family law, bankruptcy, collections, and immigration.
In 2005, Tim became the Attorney for the Delaware County Department of Child Services, where he served for 10 years. Today, he also serves on the Indiana State Probate Committee and as Secretary of the Muncie Bar Association.
Personal Life
Tim and Jennifer have been married since 1995. They moved to Muncie in 2003 to raise their children close to family. They love calling Muncie home and enjoy the city’s parks, restaurants, arts, and Ball State sports.
You might see Tim at the dog park or walking his rescue dog, Venus. In his free time, he enjoys cooking, gardening, hiking, traveling, and spending time with family.
Background and Education
Tim was born in Fort Wayne and raised in Columbia City, Indiana, where he grew up as the second of five children. His parents instilled in him the values of hard work and helping others. They were active in their church and ran a food pantry for many years.

Tim graduated from Columbia City High School in 1983. He went on to earn a Bachelor’s degree in History and Political Science from Beloit College and a law degree (Juris Doctor) from the University of Wisconsin in 1997.
